JOIN AS A RESEARCHER
To join, students begin by filling out an interest form. An executive board member will reach out, and prospective members are invited to attend a meeting to get a feel for the club before deciding whether to move forward.
New members typically sit in on meetings initially, then take on a defined research role once they are comfortable committing long-term. Members are expected to attend regularly, engage in discussion, and contribute either through presentations or active participation.
Mercatus is open to students of all majors and experience levels. No prior finance knowledge is required — curiosity, consistency, and a willingness to learn are what matter most.

JOIN THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
Mercatus is in the process of building out its executive board. Positions are filled through a formal application and discussion-based interview process conducted during the semester.
We are looking for members who have already demonstrated consistent engagement, reliability, and an interest in taking ownership of the club’s structure and development.
Prior finance or technical experience is not required — emphasis is placed on commitment, preparation, and long-term involvement.
Executive board members are held to an even higher standard of accountability with respect to consistent attendance, thorough preparation, and active collaboration with the rest of the team.
